Plans for Social Media Post Archive + CEP-Solid

One of my future goals for CEP is to have articles that archive social media posts and comments to display on pages. Today we’re kicking this off with every single Scott Cawthon Steam comment listed on this page here. As far as I’m aware I’m the first to have a single page documenting these?

The plan is that these posts will be tagged under the social media page, and then under any relevant tagged pages. For Steam comments this was easy as I could also auto tag the game it was being discussed in.

Eventually every single post and comment from all accounts FNaF, CEC, Aaron, ect should be archived for convenience. I plan on doing similar things to emails. Those are more delicate however as I need to finely tune the extractor to not grab any personal info from them.

This thread will keep tracked progress on them, but honestly I need to redesign the entire way the site renders articles cause its kinda pissing me off how unmodular this system is.

I’ve updated and fixed some of the messages to have actual dates associated, alongside adding some more missed comments. I probably only have about 90% of Scott’s comments (There’s for sure 14 left actually 7 now, Desolate Hope comments archived that are missing prior to July 13th, 2014). I still also gotta add in all the direct posts he’s made. If you know of any that are missing send the steam/archive link and I’ll be able to scrape it into the system.

Next update, the wiki is getting another test viewer, cep-solid, which is gonna be my attempt to rewrite the main site into SolidJS. This is gonna eliminate any use of html files and hopefully allow making new ‘views’ for different types of articles way faster, which is something I need for all these different post formats.

It’ll also give me control back over working with the site since in the initial rush to move to cep-js I again had too much AI sloperation take hold since I hate javascript. SolidJS makes it feel like an actual programming language and not syntax hell. I’m also gonna port some of the python scripts, so there will be duplication of some /compiled-json/ but hopefully for the better since I now have a lot more hindsight on what needs to be done.

Again I’ll keep the views separate until its fully functional, that was the whole point of this viewer/SPA system is I can have a live testing branch essentially while still letting people use the previous site layout. I do hope someday people try coding their own viewers!

cep-solid updates, articles are now beginning to render, infobox has some stuff, and random cards are showing at the bottom. Much cleaner system but my lord there is so much stuff to rewrite, this is gonna be a while!

Update on cep-solid, I’m going to revamp the map system with it and it’ll get these new markers for locations.

These are chibified versions of real locations that’ll represent each remodel. I won’t be opposed to diversifying it or making ones to represent singular locations like Winchester or Tully or whatever.

The plan is also to have the map have a dropdown so you can instead have the icons based on the stage it has, or if its franchise or not. I was thinking of doing representations of the stage- but what if I made like logos or icons for the stages? That’d be kinda cool for anyone to use.

I’ll also include something to show all alive + dead locations for completeness. The Spirit Halloween icon isn’t for those, you can document Spirit locations on the wiki if you want its still animatronics.

Sike I went ahead and added the remodel based markers to the current site. (More designs to come)

I will note, there is now a LOT more inaccuracy visible on the map. I was hiding it away in the previous version. This really shows the extent on how undocumented some stores are.

Now I’ve tried to automate a ton, 500+ locations just got changed to include the general remodel it started with (if it opened in the 2000’s it probably got the 2000’s remodel to start y’know.), alongside matching up Dance Floor installs with 2.0 and 3-Stage with CU. The rest is just simply undocumented.

All the green markers stuck on the map are also Peter Piper or Discovery Zone locations. They’re like that because they don’t have a start or end date, so lets try and get those filled out too!

If your clear cache hotkey isn’t working I recommend also using this extension:

You just click the icon and it reloads the page with 0 cache.

I can but I dont think anyone had made any Gadgets articles or location pages

Btw @CyberSnout I’m planning on having infoboxes show the current location on a map preview like when you search on Google, has anyone ever had a use for me displaying Lat-Long values or should I drop them visually to declutter?

Just saw it today! It looks Awesome!

The lat and long probably shouldn’t be in the info boxes but they should definitely stay on the page itself, since addresses can be reassigned

Well yes id keep them when you edit the page since thats how they display on the map, just referring to display for readers.

Wait I’m confused you mean the info boxes on pages with the thumbnail and dates and stuff or an info box that would pop up when you hover over a store on the map? Cause they should definitely be kept on the former.:1001610680618729472: Good for it to displayed publicly without someone having to dig into the edit page they might not understand. If you did mean the latter then no they don’t need to be there.:1006282984124579860:

I was referring to the side thumbnail area, though not a bad idea to have the coordinates appear when hovering over the pin on the map (the map that will now be in the infobox). Might do that
