Winchester Gen 1 Warblettes

Something I rarely see mentioned around in the fandom is that, just like Chuck and Crusty, the Warblettes at Winchester originally looked very different. There’s only really one picture of this variant available, and it’s pretty low quality, but fans have managed to colorise it to give a little more clarity to what we’re seeing.

As you can see, compared to the bots seen in the Four Corners 1979 footage, they look very different, much lower quality, a lack of jewlery and accessories and overall look more like generic crows. They still have a charm to them though imo, feels like something Sid and Marty Krofft would make.

They were most likely replaced around 1978 when the other bots were given an update, though due to a lack of info about them, it’s hard really to say for sure. I hope more comes out about them in the future.

I believe they may have had some gold jewelry (you can see a faint curved line on the center one’s stomach in the B&W photo which could possibly have been a un-colorized necklace) to match their golden purses?

While I’m a V1 warbs believer I will note that “center bird” is actually just the pole behind them. Whats more interesting is that from that angle one of the birds should be facing the camera, so even if V1 warbs is deconfirmed later atleast the orientation changed (likely when the curtain fell in the first year)
