It’s possible? But I can’t really make out anything king like. That’s roughly a year before the king would first debute in June 1981

Yeah. It’s the closest I could find to the King in the image but the Article says Fantasy Forest had already built one which is odd. It also says the idea was held off for a later date implying The King is older than official documents list him.

I think the King’s timeline goes:

  • Fantasy Forest make a Lion version of Elvis called the King as an Animatronic for Arlington
  • PTT inc rejects it temporarily and tasks FF with making the Beagles
  • The Beagles are sent to Arlington
  • Then PTT starts to rework the King like how they did with the Beagles.

I have spoken with CEC Master. This is new info technically. I don’t believe anyone knew that was the King in that photo prior to today. So Congrats!

When Cheesepedia was still on Miraheze, the manufacturing date for The King at Simi Valley was 1980 (listed on the page for Simi Valley).

It’s possible someone found info implying The King was installed at Simi in 1980. but the Lounge act already being filled by Dr Quack makes it unlikely. especially since this article seemingly post dates Simi’s opening. Thanks for the info though.

Also the fact the King was shelved and they state that the first king was in Pinole. I’m thinking its a classic case of person on Miraheze not knowing what they’re doing

I know but likely after Dr. Quack was removed (sometime in 1980 (I don’t know but someone please help me find the year he was removed) The King was installed so maybe it could have been a test thing or their bot is likely older.

…Simi Valley opened October 12, 1980. He lasted until they replaced him with the King which was the final version when that happened. Even then PTT wouldn’t replace him within 2 months and test a character they deemed as not working before even being installed

There sadly isn’t many good dates for cabaret/lounge characters.

Dr Quack is mentioned once near opening day, then Dolli almost exclusively, and then the King shows up first around 1984.

I would guess either 82 or 83 since thats when most Kings were installed, with Dr Quack probably staying for that entire time before The King was added.

It was the manufacturing date as their King was installed later but the manufacturing date was 1980 like I said earlier.

Ok so I think I found what they were talking about. The Prototype King was a possible choice for Simi, as confirmed through a newspaper, and someone on the old wiki must have just read “The King” and assumed Simi had him, but the article does also mention Dr Quack implying Simi got him over The King.
