Not sure on the copyright status of this, but seeing as this community regularly shares full showtapes, I figure discussion about this is permitted.
Are there any dumps of ANY internal software whatsoever related to CEC/CEI/PTT? And if so, anywhere these dumps are shared? There’s photos of CEC-branded floppy disks on this forum, after all.
In particular I’m naively hoping there’s some copy somewhere of the CEI Apple II programmer, knowing full well I can’t do anything with it (so leave your "even if you did"s untyped), but as a data hoarder I’m interested in any and all software that comes from pizzatronics.
SongCode as far as I’m aware is lost to time. APS we’ve had the showtape files for but never any of the software, it hasn’t leaked from corporate yet (and they still used it up until like a week ago now). Apple II programmer has been documented by LS-2018 but otherwise hasn’t leaked. A lot of the PTT/CEC control center boards have been decompiled, but those aren’t really show programmers.
“A lot of the PTT/CEC control center boards have been decompiled”
So if I’m reading this right, we do have something like a ROM dump, just not enough to bother sharing yet?
Regardless, interesting how little digital information there is about such a popular thing. Guess that’s what the nonexistence of the internet will do to ya.
