CEC Corporate will be removing its animatronic stages tomorrow ahead of its lease expiring in June and them moving into smaller offices in Irving. This means no new programming for animatronics will be happening going forward. This has now all been publicly confirmed by Donovan.
Not a good sign for legacy stores! Means we’re never getting any programming for the HappyNest Era. The last programmed songs to hit stores were Do Re Mi and Sparkles in 2023, but Donovan has programmed the new That’s a Deal as the last work ever done on the corporate stages- its just not clear if that was done for fun or if that will be making it to legacy locations as the final programmed show.
CEC’s YouTube has gone a month without posting any HappyNest related content and has jumped back to reusing older stuff, so its unclear if they’re doing this as filler while new content is being made, or if the budget has died, That’s a Deal being redone feels like they don’t wanna pay any VA’s to come back in. If more HappyNest content does fill the void and becomes an overwhelming part of showtapes, let’s hope they don’t get rid of legacy showtapes for having to use then-outdated material from a previous VA and era.
Man hurts that this bots who accompained the company since it was Showbiz Pizza Time Inc in 1986 now will be removed and being display or in SPT as “old stuffs” and most probably is that we never see again.
If I were feeling charitable I’d say there’s a chance they could develop their own internal simulator for programming shows a la Retromation, but yeah that’s clearly never happening.
Rest in pizza entertainment department 1977-2023, we can only hope they don’t eventually junk the display bots like they did the portrait bots.
Yes, The Rockstar Era (At Least the Rockstar branding and concept) is pretty much over as CEC corporate moves into contracting with Happynest (The people making the animated series), and the lack of any new Rockstar material.
The Rockstar designs will probably stay, but the Rockstar renders, Naming, etc, are being removed for either generic ones, or AI slop.
The original idea of Rockstar was that it would be a modern version of Chuck and the brand that would fit into the 2010’s. This included stuff like 2.0, The CGI model, and the new voices.
Since 2025 however, Corporate has been cutting most of this out of new productions, alongside altering 2.0 heavily from it’s original verison.
Who tf said that? Happynest era is essentially dead and was barely a thing beyond a brief 3 months on the youtube account. It’s not even in the current showtape at all
