Adventure World Opens Nov. 7th at 3pm-10pm. Opening Day Thread!

With new updates to the Adventure World site, it has been confirmed the soft opening for the location is November 7th at 3pm! The Grand Opening is still rumored for November 12th.

Also the location now appears on Google Maps! With already a 5 star review?? Y’know if they’re letting people already review it, maybe this is a good chance to let CEC directly know how you feel about its use of AI slop at this location.

Either way, this can be a thread on opening day info. Its not like anyone is gonna go but if there’s any footage or news that’ll be posted here!

Showtapes updated today to include full AI slop Adventure World ad, hey if we’re cutting so much labor on artists with AI, why don’t we get rid of Mark and David and replace them with AI that’d do all that work for free?

:nolanfailure:

Losing so much hope in the company the Discord has devolved into two factions, one discussing how horrific CEC’s website is coded, and the other half discussing novelty lighters.

Anyways looks like a worker has posted a full tour of Adventure World, including, more AI garbage

How the hell did you MESS UP THE WALL DECORATIONS SO BADLY MAN.
WHY IS IT CLASHING WITH THE OTHERS IN TERMS OF THEMEING? :1011438578678644826:

“we’ve improved so much since getting rid of the animatronics!!!1” sure pal, whatever you say..

They ain’t making it to 50 years…

Got some good pictures here showing some brochures, alongside signage yet to be put up. It also shows the full menu with prices too! It also gives us a QR code for a safety waiver needed to be filled out:

Also the fact that the Dance Floor does have a different variant for AI World. We do know the location had a separate showtape playlist prior to opening for promotional stuff, but it has gone back to the standard playlist all stores have (including I guess playing the Adventure World ads)

Also, the place was entirely barren! Not expected for pre-grand opening, but also I do wonder if anyone’s gonna show up for that too.

Next we have a video going through the entire play structure. Since it is so empty this is probably the only time we are ever gonna get footage like this without interruptions. Was hoping someone would take the time to show it off because its really unimpressive looking from the outside.

Review news! 16 reviews are in and the location is at 1.5 :star:

Glad everyone is willing to thoughtfully put down how they feel, not just spamming the reviews. We’re here to criticize so other families can know before stepping in. People are mentioning the actual location, its attractions, and pricing too not just the AI slop!

Special shout-out to this one letting locals know of other indoor playgrounds they can visit in the area.

More reviews come in, this time from customers calling the place overpriced, low effort, and bad customer service. One even claims they’re gonna 5-star review bomb back the page so I guess be watching that.

Current tally: 1.4 :star: (27 reviews)

In other news, most of the images from the photo shoot done prior to opening have been put on the Google Maps page.

:police_car_light: Bootlicker alert :police_car_light:

Justin Lee, Director of Construction and Facilities at CEC Corporate, is the first to comment on the AI debacle with some absolutely horrendous takes. Guess this is CEC’s official statement on the matter.

Edit: As of 2 hours later, and probably after Mark saw it when someone posted it on the Reddit, Justin’s comments have been deleted. We got em here though!

:police_car_light: BOOTLICKER ALERTS :police_car_light:

Lets start off with the fact that yesterday, the Manager of Game Operations at CEC entertainment left a 5 star review on his own restaurant.

On top of this, he recently just got a family member to post a 5 star review too.

Next we have Head of PR & Crisis Comms making a 5 star review too.

And just now, a bunch of accounts have been posting 5 star reviews each one minute apart, never left a review before, and all a single sentence. Sure is strange having this many people leave a review before there’s even been a grand opening, all at like 7pm at the same time hmmmmmm???

We have jumped from like 30 reviews to 50 in the span of 20 minutes. What a load of shit
Oh and lookie here, we might have the Manager of Corporate Communications for CEC Corporate joining in too.

CURRENT TALLY: 2.2 :star: (50 Reviews)

Part two! Another Corp Employee! Regional Tech for the Texas area.

Reviews are getting deleted!!! We were somewhere around 56+ reviews at peak, and now every few minutes its going down, a ton are being deleted!

EDIT: Even though the rating did go up, it looks like reviews on both sides got removed, all the major ones are still in-tact.

Another Corporate review, Pricing Manager of CEC Entertainment. Man they’re really just getting anyone still in the office right now at the point huh

:police_car_light: REVIEWS HAVE BEEN WIPED ENTIRELY AND DISABLED! :police_car_light:

Some may still show from your cache, these are the last on my end, additionally, the Q&A section is still available, so maybe direct your anger there. What an absolute bitch move to have your criticism deleted like that.

Below is an archive of every review just as google was wiping them near 7pm, just incase any were missed from above. I do know a few showed up that were not captured here just before the mass deletion.

Oh hey! There’s my review!

This whole situation is both fascinating but also incredibly disappointing. I only just recently got into the CEC fanbase a few months back and I was never expecting all of… this to break out. It bums me out just how far the company has fallen over the last few years and this is probably one of the most bottom of the barrel things they’ve done in a while.

I would totally vibe with the concept of the location, but the heavy emphasis on AI “art”, coupled with the expensive prices and everything else I’ve heard about the location, just turns me off so much. This could have been a great concept, but nope. The AI stuff saddens me more as an actual human artist who loves these characters, as someone who wants to see actual human love and effort poured into bringing them to life. Chuck E. Cheese wall art used to be great (especially in the 90’s), but now this is the bottom of the barrel. Even if it’s “more appealing looking” or whatever investor speak they’re using to defend them, I would have 100% taken generic 2.0 graphics over the AI stuff. At least there you’re not cutting down hundreds of trees and whatnot to get an AI image of Jasper as a pirate. Plus, they have human people working on the new cartoon, and they genuinely seem to care about the CEC brand, so… why not just use those people to make art for here? Is it cause it’s 2D and not “3D”, like the AI stuff? Buddy, for years you were using 2D art of your characters! Just use them!

All the review stuff is just embarrassing too. Seeing corp try and inflate the scores by spamming 5 star reviews to offset the negative ones feels incredibly childish. And not to mention all the comments from Justin Lee and junk. It’s depressing. I wish things were different, but oh well. I WILL be keeping a sharp eye on this mess though. How long do we think it’ll take until it shuts?

As of this morning looks like Justin Lee deleted his Adventure World post entirely. CEC can’t even take a smidgen of valid criticism and reflect on themselves. All cowards who wanna double and triple down on unpopular things to both fans and employees.

Just a reminder that Cheese-E-Pedia allows any review to be added, and that those pages also show up in adventure world google searches

:innocent:

warning for emetophobia in this comment but i’m going to throw up- this pisses me off so bad. aww widdle company can’t pick up a pencil? yeah? need chatgpt to make your art for you? yeah? need ai to do everything for you???

as if recycling pizza, discarding animatronics, and making the prices so outrageously expensive that it nearly matched up with the excursion prices for our cruise (we could only play like 5 games) wasn’t enough, now you need ai slop to cover your walls and even make your ad?? this company has gone down the drain.

this is especially saddening as a die-hard fan. every chance i get a wish or something, i wish for chuck e cheese to be better or for me to get some merch (childish, yes, but it makes me feel happy). it reminds me of the die-hard hazbin fans / vivzie fans leaving because they just can’t support it anymore.
