The special debuted on Prime sometime this evening, and the YouTube release is premiering sometime in the morning of the 27th. Spoilers below for everything, and feel free to leave comments and reviews on it!
Reference/Easter eggs!
Both Ronnie and the Disco Dinosaur appear!
Odd color swaps of B.B. Bubbles, Crusty, and Madame Oink appear! Unclear why legacy characters get a palette change, maybe to make the easter egg harder to spot, or possibly last minute changes from CEC Corporate?
The soulpatch scene includes a caricature of Zac Moncrief
Pasqually’s references ‘370’ and ‘77’ for the first ever Pizza Time Theatre. In the Party Mobile’s address list the first page aren’t any references, but the second page that’s scrolled to includes the Happy Nest offices, many CEC’s, and finally the first PTT once again.
Plushies of the characters appear in both Pasqually’s and at the toy workshop, notably using the rockstar designs.
I just got done watching the special, and I… I honestly wasn’t expecting to love it this much. It is so, SO much fun. The biggest sticking point about the special to me is the fact that the characters have, y’know, ACUTAL CHARACTER. That’s one of my biggest problems with modern CEC, the characters just don’t have any character. This completely fixes that, and, yes, they’re not the most creative character types out there, sure, but I’ll take it over the way current CEC showtape content is set up where we barely get to see their character, and when we do there’s barely any to begin with. It’s a breath of fresh air. It’s also surprisingly funny too, Jasper has some great lines. Also the songs are great! We gotta make Robot Banana Christmas this year’s Christmas number one. Also the thing I love about the credits is they openly show behind the scenes material! That’s a rarity with media made for young kids so it’s awesome to see something that does. Also I’m happy that the people working on this are actual fans too, as evident by the references and Easter eggs. It’s heartwarming, y’know?
Also, it’s crazy the same company responsible for making a store filled with AI slop can allow hundreds of talented people to make a 40+ minute Christmas special with genuine heart, passion and soul crammed into it to be released within mere weeks after the Adventure World fiasco. Modern CEC is a weird beast.
honestly that is super well said. I enjoyed it too! Rockstar character personalities are dead as a doornail but the special somehow reinvigorated any sort of love for them
